Remove and Install Tires on a Remote-Controlled Car

If you call yourself a hobbyist or a kid at heart, you know that remote-controlled vehicles are more than just fun. If you're a serious R/C man, you'll know all about doing everything to your model truck or car, like fixing wheels, vamping the pinion gears, waterproofing, troubleshooting, electronic diagnostics, setting up, programming, and finally... racing. As much as you know about these remote-controlled vehicles, it will never be enough; you'll always be looking for more...

These video tutorials will teach you how to remove and install tires on a remote-controlled vehicle. These videos are on how to glue tires onto the rims properly. It walks you through putting the foam on the tire, tire selection, placing the tire on the rim, using the beadlocks to put bead locks glue CA on the rim and to use the capillary action of the rim to draw the glue around it.

One method to de-bond the CA glue is the boiling method, where you bring a pot of water to a full boil, place the entire model in the pot, and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. After that, remove the tire and try to peel it off from the rim. The hazard to this method is that water can get onto the foam and burn your skin. Be sure to wear gloves to help minimize the heat and potential danger.

Another method is the baking method. For this, you will want to place the tire on a cookie or baking sheet and place it in a pre-heated 350-degree oven for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove the tire from the oven and then peel off the tire.
